In 2010, Downes Elementary School proudly received recognition for using their resources to ensure all children have access to effective instructional strategies.

In 2018-2020, Downes Elementary School was committed to supporting and recognizing partnerships between the PTA and their school. Downes Elementary was awarded the National PTA School of Excellence.
